This project outlines a complete IT infrastructure modernization for a small business that was operating on a mixed and unmanaged technology stack. The client faced several key challenges, including an unreliable network, a lack of centralized administrative control over their Microsoft 365 accounts, an inefficient email system, and no robust data backup solution. This initiative was undertaken to transition the organization to a unified, secure, and easily manageable Apple ecosystem, resolving critical pain points and establishing a stable foundation for future growth.

Phase 1: Strategic Planning and Procurement
The project began with a thorough assessment of the client's existing IT environment, identifying key challenges such as unreliable connectivity, a lack of centralized management, and an outdated backup strategy. The solution was a detailed proposal for a unified Apple-based infrastructure.
Initial Consultation & Proposal: Conducted a deep dive into the client’s needs and drafted a comprehensive proposal outlining the strategic vision, proposed technologies, and a phased deployment plan.
Procurement and Logistics: Managed the acquisition of all new hardware, including new Mac computers, a Ubiquiti network router, high-speed switches, laser printers, and an external NAS/RAID for a server setup.
Software and Service Configuration: Handled the initial setup of key services like Apple Business Essentials to prepare for centralized device management.
Phase 2: Core Infrastructure Deployment
This phase focused on the hands-on implementation of the new IT environment. The goal was to build a modern, scalable, and reliable foundation for daily operations.
Network Upgrade: Deployed a new Ubiquiti UniFi router and Gigabit Ethernet switches to replace outdated equipment, resulting in faster and more reliable network performance.
Mac Ecosystem Integration: Deployed and configured three new Mac computers and installed Apple Business Essentials management profiles on both the new and existing Macs for unified management.
Server and Printing Setup: Utilized a pre-existing iMac as a dedicated network server and connected an external NAS/RAID for network-attached storage. Configured new laser printers for reliable office use and backup.

Phase 3: Data Security and Integrity
A critical part of the project was implementing a robust strategy for data protection and credential management to safeguard the client's information.
Data Migration and Backup: Consolidated and backed up nearly a decade's worth of files from old systems to the new NAS server. Implemented a dual-backup strategy using both Time Machine for on-site protection and iCloud/OneDrive for off-site disaster recovery.
Secure Credential Repository: Implemented a secure system for managing credentials. This included setting up encryption keys on all computers synced to managed iCloud accounts, enabling biometric access, and creating physical and digital backups for emergency access.
System Optimization: Resolved pre-existing SharePoint issues and enabled macOS's Content Caching feature to ensure all Apple devices receive software updates efficiently and without consuming additional internet bandwidth.
Phase 4: User Empowerment and Project Completion
The final stage of the project focused on a smooth handoff and ensuring the client's team was ready to use their new systems with confidence.
User Training: Conducted hands-on training sessions to familiarize employees with the new macOS environment, their Managed Apple IDs, and the new IT workflows.
Equipment Consolidation: Organized and collected all outdated IT equipment, leaving the office with a streamlined and professional physical workspace.
This project successfully delivered a complete, cohesive, and secure IT environment tailored to the client's specific needs, laying a solid foundation for future operational success.
